Between The Lines; it’s My Turn…

“When I started blogging five-years-ago, one of the first blogs I came across was Katherine’s Corner. We had more than a few things in common and I knew I liked her. When she put the word out that she wanted to do a series on mid-life women bloggers of course I wanted to be part of the fun!”

The series is called between the lines.

Please stop over and read about the featured bloggers…

I started blogging while I was working on the second draft of my first book. Back then I posted excerpts from Bristol boyz Stomp and shared the news of my youngest two granddaughter’s births. I cannot believe they will be 6 & 7 the end of this month.

Adriana and Peyton 1

I’ve had technical difficulties along the way but I was determined to ‘get it.’

While writing the last draft of my second book, The Stranger In My Recliner it was clear to me that I wanted to write full-time. I needed to earn a living so I turned to something I enjoyed, my blog. I started writing content for brands, business blogs, ghostwriting and studied to be a writer/blogger/marketing coach & consultant, a job I LOVE!

What I love most about blogging is the friendships. Mid-life woman are fabulous! I have met quite a few and look forward to meeting many more.

Mid Life writers meet IRL

Once we drop the competition and start connecting with one another, gain confidence and share what we’ve learned with each other, amazing things start to happen!

I hope you will visit some of the other women who are featured. You never know who you might meet.

Thank you so much Katie, for featuring me today and for all you do!

Would you like to win a copy of The Stranger In My Recliner?  Leave a comment here and on Katie’s post and share away. I will choose a winner on Sunday.

  1. How did I miss that you were a part of this blog hop as well ? My day isn’t until June but I am thrilled to see you on here! I love that you are giving away another copy of your book–it is such a great book and I am thrilled to have met you in person. You are very talented and I love your words here about connecting with one another. That is the truth!

  2. Hello Doreen, nice to meet you! It’s been so much fun meeting other 50+ bloggers in this series. I see you’re a marketing coach, sure could use some coaching! LOL I was one of the first out of the gate in this awesome series.

  3. You are one busy lady, Doreen! Lovely grandchildren! (It will be a while before I get some … but I have started hinting to my kids! *lol*) I just hope they don’t wait as long as I did, having my first child at 35 and my last at 41.

It’s so wonderful to meet up with all these bloggers “of a certain age”. I never knew the community was so vibrant! It’s putting a big old smile on my face!

  4. Hi Doreen,

  5. HI Doreen I met you through the AtoZ Challenge and now I’m also joining you in the Between the Lines project. Congratulations on writing a book and I’m looking forward to getting to know you better. Have a great week. Sue from Sizzling Towards Sixty.

  6. “Between the Lines” sounds like a very interesting group and a delightful way to connect. I’m impressed with you whirl wind schedule and I wish you continued success.

  7. Hi Doreen,
I love the picture of all the ladies at the table. You are right, once we let the competition BS go- we can be a great support to one another. Congrats on publishing two books! I’ve only been blogging for 6 months and post only once a week. I’m lost when it comes to the techy stuff and have yet to monetize, but I have faith it will come some day. Nice to meet you in this series.

    1. Keep on writing it will all come together. If you would like me to share what I know about monetizing email me. I’m always happy to share. doreenb8@verizon.net
The ladies at the table are the Philadelphia area Bloggers at Midlife. It was so, so good meeting these amazing ladies in real life!

  8. I’ve finished your book….in tears of course! And now reading this and learning more about you makes my day! This series is a wonderful way to find other blogs, thanks for sharing with us, my friend! Let me know what I can do to help share your book!

    1. Thank you so much Joan and I really appreciate you wanting to share Sophie’s story. Reviews on Amazon or Goodreads, Post on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram with the hashtag #thestrangerinmyrecliner #sophieschallenge I love love when people post photos of the book and tag me:) Any of these are the greatest help. Thank you SO much.

  9. It’s a pleasure to meet a fellow Between The Lines blogger! How awesome that you have published books. Enjoy your young grandchildren because they grow up so fast. Our oldest will be 13 in less than a month and our youngest is 5, with another one on the way. So we have 3.5 to our name now! I’ll be featured next month on Katie’s blog.

  10. Hello Doreen, It is such a pleasure to meet another “Between the Lines” blogger. Congratulations on your writing accomplishments! I loved your comments about dropping the competition and sharing with one another. So true! I have been blogging for just over a year and find it difficult to be truly consistent with my posting. Hoping to get it together more and begin to monetize! Teresa
