Glory Days…

I have dreamed of being an author….Forever! Actually the thought first entered my mind when I was 10. I had a habit of re-writing books. Nancy Drew and The Bobbsey Twins were my favorites. I usually just changed the endings but there were times when the whole book was reworked. I did not like doing book reports which probably explains why I do not like writing reviews of another author’s work. I never want to hurt any one’s feelings. I also seriously find Something to like about everything I read and watch. (I am the same way with movies).

I honestly never thought of or dreamed of being a famous author… just an author. I dislike being the center of attention. I did imagine everyone would read my books and of course fall in love with them…the books.

I love the process of writing. I work with an outline. I always write the ending first. This drove my instructors and newspaper editors bonkers. I love working with talented editors. I actually enjoy revisions. (except for all the red, blue and black lines; I am OCD)

I am one of those writers that wakes up at 3am with an idea in my head and I must get up and write. I have scared myself more than a few times when I actually think I sleep write. The birds start chirping, my hands are numb and my legs are so stiff. I have no idea what I wrote. I’m usually scared to read. Sometimes it is good and other times…oh well.

So “Bristol boyz Stomp” is finally finished. The book will be making it’s debut soon; very soon. I have at times during this past year been quite upset that the book is a year late. It was supposed to be published last summer. I was in an accident and suffered a closed head injury. I had trouble putting words together to say the least. I am not angry anymore. I really believe everything happens for a reason. Now is the time.

So the party is planned. The music has been chosen. The invitations are done. The trailer is so close to done. Advertising is set. I will be visiting some very exciting places…hopefully near you:)

The jury is still out on my National Marketing/PR folks. I have high hopes for them.

I am so in love with my local Marketing/PR guy. He is brilliant. He tells me not to worry because my book is good. I hope he is right because I am nervous now.
