So many of the happiest memories I have are filled with music. It’s like the sound is woven through them, holding them together. Most of my saddest memories have music attached too. I married a DJ so he has a story for every song he hears too!
Because music is so important to me, such a part of my life I’ve wanted to join in on Music Monday posts for the longest time.
My Music Monday posts will include interviews and music from new and veteran artists from all genres of music as well as the music that has meant the most to me throughout my life.
This week I want to introduce you to another newcomer to the Country Music Community.
Dylan Raymond was born and raised in Terre Haute, Indiana. He was raised on music. His father preferred Alan Jackson, his mother Metallica, his grandfather gospel and great grandfather the blues. His parents gave him his first guitar when he was 8.
Dylan is determined to make a name in country music and it won’t be long, the young artist brings a different style to the genre.
The Interview
Growing up did your parents encourage you to be interested in music or did you have to encourage them to let you try?
Growing up I was involved in baseball and wanted something different as a hobby. My parents got me my first guitar when I was eight- years- old. They continue to be my two #1 fans!
Where did you grow up? I was born and raised in Terre Haute, IN
Have you made the move to Nashville? I have not, I still live in my hometown.
What is your favorite home town place to eat? What’s your menu choice?
The Bush and I always get the Cod Sandwich and French fries
Did I read that all of your songs are true stories? What is the story behind your upcoming single, Take It Slow?
I was always taught to never rush love, yet I’ve done so throughout my life. “Take It Slow” is my way of saying to never rush love and go with the flow of loving someone in the right now.
If you could open for anyone dead or alive, who would it be? One of my biggest idols in country music is Randy Travis. I would love to open for him.
Who is on your dream tour?
My dream tour would be Randy Travis, Jason Aldean, Kane Brown, Alan Jackson and George Strait.

Country music and the bro-sound are so popular right now; do you see a return to a more traditional sound anytime in the near future?
In my opinion, country music nowadays pulls traditional aspects into the new sound. Most of it is crossing genres and that allows the artist to create a unique sound.
What was your first job?
Pacsun as a sales associate
Do you have a guilty TV pleasure?
Full House
The last book you read?
The Harry Potter Series
What’s on your schedule wish list for 2017?
I would love to play my first big venue whether it’s a festival or just a larger music venue. I am also looking into releasing my first full album!
What is you favorite non-alcoholic drink?
Crystal Light Lemonade
When is the release date for, Take It Slow? Where can we pre-order or order it? Can we call and request the song on radio?
Take It Slow will release on Dec 9th and is available right now for pre order on ITunes and Amazon. It will be available on ITunes, YouTube, Amazon, Google Play, Spotify and many more Dec. 9th. You can call and request my debut single on the radio as well!
We wish you the best of luck and much success Dylan!

I liked the interview but it’s before lunch and I can’t get my eyes to leave that cod sandwich. No lie!
I enjoy reading your music reviews although I have to be honest and say I’m not a huge country fan. I did love full house though!
Not a huge fan of country but my husband is starting to get me more into it. Great interview and I wish Dylan much success.
What a fun interview! I’ve just recently started enjoying country music (thanks to some of the incredible contestants on The Voice!). Best wishes to Dylan for huge success!
I love Music Mondays. Will have to check out Dylan’s music.
It’s always interesting reading about what makes people tick – I love that Full House is his guilty pleasure – it made me smile!
He looks like a nice young man and sounds great. I’m not too huge on country but enjoy it every once in a while.
Dylan sure has an authentic country sound. I like all of his idols too!
How great that he was introduced to the guitar so young and it opened up this whole world to him. I love to hear that. Music is a huge part of my life. When I hear certain songs, they take me back to time in my life with great meaning. I wish him good luck with Take It Slow. I hope it sells fast!!
