Becoming a published author is no easy task.

Overcoming the writing challenges, agent and publisher rejections, and marketing failures can be excruciating. It can often seem like an impossible dream, but your dream can be realized.

Realize Your Writing Dreams will walk you through each step of the writing process. The instructor will explain in simple terms the business and the ever-changing publishing landscape. She will present a complete description of each publishing route and the pros and cons of each.

You will receive actionable tips on all things marketing including:

  • public relations,
  • promotion,
  • advertising
  • how to write a winning marketing plan.

The instructor will send you notes after each class!

Included is a one-hour one-on-one with the instructor!

Classes are limited to fifteen attendees.

Cost: $199.00

The book Realize Your Writing Dreams is recommended (not required.)

It is available in paperback and eBook form.

About the Instructor:

As the President of Intrepid Marketing Inc., Doreen consults and coaches on all things writing, publishing, and marketing.

She started her writing career as a feature writer and journalist for several Philadelphia area newspapers. She is a sought-after ghostwriter, speaker, best-selling author, and award-winning blogger.

A former member of the SCORE’s speaker bureau, Doreen facilitated seminars on creative marketing solutions and public relations for small businesses and a seminar on Books are the New Business Card.

As the facilitator of the Press Club’s Professional Development series, she presented seminars and workshops along with the biggest names in local radio, tv, and print media on writing, communications, blogging, networking, and social media. She served on the Press Club executive board for (8) years. Doreen is an active member.

She taught Publishing at Delaware County Community College and teaches two community education classes (writing & social media for small businesses) each semester for the Swarthmore School District.

Doreen has spoken (speaks) at many writers, bloggers, women, and business conferences across the country including SCBWI; ASJA, BAM (Blogger’s at Midlife,) The Association of University Women, The POWER Conference, The RISE Conference, and the Philadelphia Writers Conference. She is a speaker for IEEE Conferences (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) which is the largest professional organization in the world, and for WIE (Women in Engineering.) She speaks to and mentors University students on soft skills, writing, elevator pitches, the women who came before us, and the importance of networking and volunteering in their communities, in person.

She volunteers with senior citizen women’s groups, holding workshops for them on the importance of and how to keep memories for the next generation.

She has written features for the popular online women’s magazine 1010 Park Place.

Doreen is an active member of the Chamber of Commerce, on their book club committee and frequently sits on panels.

She is the immediate past Board President of Family Promise, a national organization supporting families experiencing the trauma of homelessness with the goal of permanent, sustainable housing.

As an active member and the President of Fem City Philadelphia’s Board of Advisors she connects with and supports women at all stages of life.

As a former executive board member (8 years) of NOVA (Network of Victims Assistance) Doreen chaired their annual fundraiser and worked with victims of sexual assault and violent crimes.

Her first book, Bristol boyz Stomp is the true story of the random road rage murder of her brother, musician David Albert.

The Stranger in My Recliner is the true story of an 83- year -old homeless woman Doreen’s husband brought home one night. They cared for her in their home for three years.

Realize Your Writing Dreams/Tips on all things Writing, Publishing, and Marketing is A simple, easy-to-follow book full of advice and inspiration for writers whether they are beginning the process or multi-published authors.

The Father’s Pain is narrative nonfiction, a work in progress based on the suicide of her 17-year-old stepson. The plan is for this to be a must-read for all parents, educators, and coaches of preteens and teens.

Doreen has two sweet romance novels on submission.

She’s writing a women’s commercial fiction series based on a dysfunctional family and a beach house both suffused with decades of secrets.

She lives in Delaware County, Pa. just south of Philadelphia with her husband John.

Doreen and John have 5 grown children (2 more in heaven) and 13 grandchildren (their own little cult). Their lives are never boring.
