FRIDAY FRAGMENTS
Friday Fragments are bits and pieces of your week that are usually brief; too short for a stand-alone post, but too good to discard. Collect humorous observations, “Heard” items, and other small gems and put them together in a Friday Fragments post.

We haven’t had a good binge watch in awhile so last Sunday we started The Americans. We finished watching season 1 on Sunday and season 2 on Monday. John and I are enjoying the 80’s cars, clothes and music. I go back and forth between wanting to scrutinize my neighbors more and completely ignoring them. I am grateful I am not an FBI or a CIA agent and especially grateful I’m not a spy. Too much stress! There are 4 seasons available now and season 5 starts in March. It’s a good series and if you haven’t seen it yet, I recommend it.

My new Facebook business page resulted in some new clients. I would love it if you could give the page a look, a like and maybe a share.

I signed on to partner with 3 others to present a six-week- series of seminars based on Matthew Kelly’s book, Resisting Happiness. The series will start the first week of March. We decided to prepare for one seminar at a time instead of all six, thank goodness. I need to read the book this weekend which will cut down on my binge-watching time.
My granddaughter, Julia has her driving test next week. We spent a few hours last night at the course working on parallel parking. She’s really good on the road and did great with parking last night but I’m going to take her again on Sunday and Monday to help her be more confident and hopefully a lot less nervous. She passed the written test on the first try. How about you, did you pass the driving test on the first try?
Can you believe the Superbowl is Sunday? My team isn’t playing and of the teams playing, I suppose being a Philly girl I have to hope Atlanta wins because here in Philly we don’t like the Patriots. Honestly I just hope it’s a good game and I hope the half-time show isn’t a political advertisement. The commercials used to be SO good and honestly over the past few years they’ve been pretty bad. There is the food though. I’m making wings, potato salad, cornbread and a lemon cake.
Today is Wing Bowl here in Philadelphia. It’s an annual eating contest that was founded in 1993 by Philadelphia talk-radio hosts Angelo Cataldi and Al Morganti. It’s always held the Friday before the Superbowl. 20,000 people will be watching 30-eaters shove food in their mouths for 14-minutes and that’s just the first round. It starts at 6am. I have no idea why something so ridiculous and so gross is so exciting for so many but of course I will be watching.
My granddaughter, Adriana is citizen of the month again, so proud of her! I’m picking her sister up at her university and we are going to the little ones school for a presentation.
The funniest thing I heard all week was a young woman who was rioting at Berkley was asked why she was rioting. “For free speech.” she answered. I had to laugh because they were protesting a speaker. I can’t be the only one that finds that horribly sad, ironic and hilarious at the same time.
What have you been up to this week?
