Writing Wednesday
Wednesday is the day I like to share information, tidbits I picked up on my journey from writer to published author. Information I wish someone would have shared with me back then.

I’ve missed the blogging and writing community. Everyone has been so embroiled in election negativity. I miss the positive, friendly, informative posts I got used to, expected and looked forward to from my writer friends. Hopefully we are close to the end of all the negativity and the spirit of the holidays will fill us all and inspire us to reach out and love and respect each other again.
BLOG to BOOK
Since I started Writing Wednesday I’ve had many requests to compile the weekly posts into a book. Over the last year I’ve been working on that. I should have some good news shortly after the first of the year.
Realize Your Writing Dreams
Actionable Tips on Writing, Publishing and Marketing…
The project hasn’t been as easy as I thought it would be but it has been fun. There was never any specific order to my Writing Wednesday posts. I simply wrote what was on my mind that Wednesday. The book is definitely more organized. It has four sections: What You Should Know Before You Start; Writing; Publishing Choices and Marketing.
This is my first blog to book project and will also be my first self-publishing attempt. I’m excited!
If your blog is theme driven, why not compile the posts into a book. The book will drive new readers to your blog and your blog may drive readers to the book. A win-win!
If you started your blog as a marketing component for your business, turning those posts into a book will bring you instant credibility in your field, more exposure and more clients or customers.
I printed out all of the Writing Wednesday posts and started the process of weeding out or combining similar posts and putting them into some semblance of order. I chose the four sections of the book and the posts for each section. Most of those posts were then updated and some expanded.
I’m still going through photos now trying to find the perfect matches for the text but right now I’m baking eating pies and making mashed potatoes.
How about you, have you considered turning your blog posts into a book?
Happy Thanksgiving,
Doreen

I’ve never thought about turning my posts into a book Doreen, but I’ll be very interested to see how yours turns out – you might inspire me!
Hopefully soon…
So many people want to write a book. As usual, your blog is a resource for them all.
I’m hoping to read yours one day.
I have often thought of it…especially for the transplant journey. It might help a lot of people going through it.
You absolutely should!
I keep thinking of doing it but I write about diverse subjects on my blog. I’m trying to figure out how to blend them into one “book.” I just have to sit down and do it.
You could probably do several 🙂
I’m hoping to launch a related project soon. I’m not sure whether this will be a clever move or one of the most dim-witted things I’ve tried, but my plan is to novelize my 1st screen play. The 1st step will be to publish the novelized version in serialized snippets on my blog. Once I’m finished, I should be able to collect all of the posts and have a complete novel. I’ll read some of your prior posts (could be you warn against this very thing!) and I’ll stay tuned to know how well your project goes. Thanks for sharing info! 🙂
I think it’s a great idea, just a tad bit more work than it sounds.
