Just like that February is a blur, I am a year older and once again it is the first Wednesday of the month and I have a standing appointment with The Insecure Writers Support Group.
If you could use a bit of support or have, you have some to spare please feel free to join us we would love to have you.

I am actually feeling good this month. I have made tons of progress on the revisions for my second book and I finally feel like we have bonded.
I know it has been said over, and over again but the best advice I can give an aspiring or a new author/writer is, if you want to be a professional writer you have to act like a professional writer and professional writers have EVERYTHING edited professionally.
For the past few month’s I have been reviewing books for an online magazine. It is so frustrating to be enjoying a story and not be able to continue because of numerous typos, too much description and grammar mistakes. I have even gotten notes from the author included with their books asking me to overlook the errors. I want to scream, “This is not professional people!”
Professional editors can be expensive which is why some writers skip them. This is a huge mistake. You are hurting your chances at being successful. You are also hurting those independent and self- published authors that work hard at perfecting their craft.
Writing has rules and we should all respect them.
I am SO far from being perfect in this department. I am writing this post as much to remind myself as to advise you. I am slowly learning to go SLOWLY when posting from my phone or Ipad. I cringe and get an upset stomach if I post something crazy. I HATE getting an e-mail from someone telling me I have committed a spelling error or sent a butt tweet or text. At the same time, I am grateful that they were brave enough to tell me.
Somebody asked on Facebook this morning, The color of your pants and the last thing you ate. I typed ‘gray meatballs.’ When I got home this afternoon it said ‘grey eatsballs’ …Jeesh so embarrassing:(
Remember that Facebook, Twitter, Google, your blog, all of it is there forever. Double -check all of your e-mails and texts no matter who will be receiving them. Triple check your blog posts, Facebook and twitter posts, you never know who may be reading them.
Have a great March!!
Doreen
