The Oscars, traffic cameras, parking tickets and the stomach bug. Welcome to Friday Fragments…

Yikes is it cold, no frigid in Philadelphia today. No snow in our area other than dustings just lots of wind and cold.

Thank goodness it’s Friday because I have got to get rid of some fragments especially the first one. If you would like to join us and we would love to have you just stop by and read all about it here. Be sure and say hello to our lovely host Mrs. 4444.

Friday Fragments

I was in the city this morning for an appointment at the University of Pa. Hospital. It is a great hospital but like in any city, the parking is horrible. As I was driving home, I noticed something on my windshield. I was on a highway so luckily it stayed there until I could stop. It was a ticket (301.00) for parking in a handicap spot. I did not park in a handicap spot. I would never do that. Now I have to call, probably write letters and take photos…ugghh.  If it never happened before I might not be so upset but it happens all the time. There is a bridge in Delaware that I go over quite often and nearly every single time I get a violation in the mail saying I did not pay the toll. It is so annoying!

Thank you for letting me vent I feel better now.

My friend Joelle is home from the hospital. Thank you to all of you who continue to pray for her and her family. We need to continue praying to keep this cancer away. Her husband Nat had to go back to Afghanistan.  He could use some prayers and good thoughts too. Our friend Tina is still down there helping with the children, the house and Joelle’s recovery.  I am hoping to get down for a visit very soon.

Last weekend we had four of our granddaughters for the weekend. The baby, Peyton got very sick with a stomach virus. We ended up taking her to the ER because her fever got so high she had a seizure. It was scary. Kids are just so amazing though, the next day she was running around and playing like nothing was ever wrong. Guess what I was doing the next day. That is one mean stomach bug!  Luckily, it was a 24 hr. (more like 48hr.) thing and I feel so much better now.

There is a possibility the summer Olympics could be happening in Philadelphia. I am not quite sure how I would feel about that since at least half of my life involves getting to the other side of the city. I guess it would be amazing to see some of the games.

Will you be watching the Oscars? How many of the movies have you seen? I have not seen them all but the ones I saw were SO good. I’m really pulling for Silver Linings Playbook. I’m hoping for some decent fashions too. I’m so tired of the shock factor…

Are you watching American Idol? Nikki is still getting on my nerves. Most of the contestants are getting on my nerves too. I may just stop watching until it gets closer to the end.

I am having dinner next week with an old friend. I have not seen her in at least 20 years. I am really looking forward to it!

We are updating the grandkids room, with their help. Morgan worked on the sky last weekend.

These two worked on wearing my glasses. I asked them what they needed glasses for and they said they were going to write. How cute is that?

I hope the Phillies are good this year.

Have a blessed weekend,

Doreen
