Day 4 of the A-Z writing challenge brought to you today by the letter ‘D’

The ‘D’ word is Dance because my husband said; after reading yesterday’s post he would remind me how to Dance.  I really love him.

The word Dance can be a noun or a verb.

  • To engage in or perform a dance.
  • To move or seem to move up and down or about in a quick or lively manner. {I love this}.

The title of my book is “BRISTOL boyz STOMP”.   The dance Bristol Stomp was  created in Bristol, Pennsylvania in the early 1960’s by a bunch of teenagers dancing in a firehouse hall.  The song was written in a house on Pond Street, in Bristol.  I used to live on the corner of Pond and Franklin Streets.   The house and the hall are still there.

Older than the “BRISTOL STOMP” is the wanna be gang; the “Bristol boyz”.  For a very long time I felt raising my children in a small town where the “boyz” stick together was a good thing.  I thought it was good until that night….

The night the Bristol boyz decided to beat my brother to death with baseball bats, metal objects and the claw end of a hammer.  They finished  their dance of murder off by stomping on David’s head.  His crime?  He was driving too slow (the speed limit) and stopping too long at stop signs.  The boyz did not all stick together that night.  One of them had a concience and ran away.  Just one.

My husband is a fabulous dancer.  He was taught by his older sister before another sister’s wedding.  I cannot wait to be wrapped in his strong arms as he reminds me that dancing feels really good.

When was the last time you shared a really good dance?
