through the week…

For the first time I am joining Blog Entourage for some weekend fun.  If you want to join in : http://theblogentorage.blogspot.com

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I signed up for an April Challenge.  I was #526 to sign up, so this should be interesting.  It is called Blogging from A-Z.  You post everyday of the month of April (except Sundays).  That leaves 26 days.  Every day your topic will start with the letters of the alphabet.  First post A and so on.  Sounds challenging and I am going to give it my best shot.  If you would like to join in; sign up here : http://tossingitout.blogspot.com
As if that is not enough I have also agreed to write 1000 words a day on my revision of “I Felt God’s Pain”
We took Sophie to her new home last Tuesday. (see 2 posts back).  It was very sad but was the right thing to do.  John has gone to visit with her every day.  She was very angry with me so I am going to wait until she is more settled.   If you pray say a little one for her.  I finally did go see her Saturday.  She gave me the cold shoulder at first and then she warmed a bit.
Last weekend we had our grandson’s Dominic (8) and Jimmy (7) for the weekend.  They helped Pop-Pop gather all the lost branches in our back yard and then they built a fire and had a guys night.  I stayed out of their way….
Guys night out...
I am having a very emotional time dealing with the fact that my kids no longer need me for anything.  They have their own lives, their own kids and their own homes.  I am experiencing empty nest syndrome a few years late and it really hurts.  I still want them to need me.  I guess now I need them.  I have been crying all week.  It may have something to do with Sophie moving on and one of my clients passing away.  I really wanted to talk with my kids and they were all very busy this week.  Too busy to talk to me.
I am very excited to have reached 500+ followers.  I have chosen 2 winners and when you least expect it you will receive a gift for the amazing comments you left for me.  Thank you all for sharing my journey.
Next month we will be recording the vocals that go with the music for the trailer for “Bristol boyz Stomp”.  John’s niece Caroline is singing.  She has a beautiful voice.  I cannot remember if I have ever been in a recording studio before.  It is exciting and I cannot wait to share it with you.  The actual filming will be done on April 28th.  They are not just using photo’s they are making a little movie.  Did I tell you I was excited?
This is a heavy fragment.  This book is bringing up a lot of painful feelings for most of my family (me included).  I still feel so strongly this is a story that HAD to be told.  I hope the BAD people end up feeling a lot worse than we do.
I asked someone so cool; someone I really respect to do the forward.  I am anxiously waiting for an answer.  Do you think the longer it takes the better the answer?   The waiting is awful!
More of guys night out (They are not as close to the fire as it appears…I had to go out and check).
Dominic and Jimmy
Our local newspaper had a blog fair on Saturday.  We met some amazing people, social media experts, motivational speakers and several other authors.  I really enjoyed meeting Pam Mariani and I am going to do a post on her and her amazing work very soon.
I will now be posting on the newspapers blog.  I am going to be writing about our County’s senior citizens, programs available to them,  what is working and what is not.  I have plans; big plans…
My favorite quote this week is:
“There is no better feeling than when you write something you know is a piece of you and that, at some point, is going to communicate with someone else”.–Alanis Morissette
I hope you are having  a powerful week.
Doreen
