Rest/Relax/Read
Does anyone know how to rest anymore? I think women have especially forgotten how. I know I have. I am working on it though. For the month of May I am going to close my eyes for 10 minutes twice a day and look at the back of my eyelids.
I am also going to relearn how to relax. I am doing a book signing at a yoga studio on Saturday. I have not been in a yoga studio..well ever. I am thinking I may want to give it a try. I know I can no longer sit in bed with my laptop and convince myself I am watching tv, spending quality time with my husband and writing. I really want to be but I need to realize I am not Wonderwoman. I can multi-task as well as the best but I am fooling myself if I believe I am giving all 100%.
Ahh reading…Ever since I became serious about becoming an author my reading has slowed. I used to read 2 books a week and the whole entire newspaper every single day. Now I am lucky to read a book quarterly and I get my news alerts on my phone. I tell myself I will catch up on Sunday but I never do.
I know that in order to be a good writer I have to read. I am not ready to commit to the 100 books a year challenge but I am going to make a serious effort to lighten my tbr pile. For now my eyes are seeing fuzz from trying to read A-Z posts. Who else thought they could make it through that list??
How about you, do you have trouble resting, relaxing or reading? How about the men..do you have these issues??
