Friday Fragments are bits and pieces of your week that are usually brief; too short for a stand-alone post, but too good to discard. Collect humorous observations, “Heard” items, and other small gems and put them together in a Friday Fragments post. Then leave a link to your Friday Fragments post and leave a link back to Half-Past Kissin’ Time in your post.
I would love to read your Fragment’s. Sign up here:

Did you watch the live announcement for the Emmy Nominations? If not here it is…
http://new.livestream.com/accounts/5675986/events/3170691/videos/56173697
I didn’t think there were too many surprises with the announcement. Sadly I have only watched a few of the shows. I think I may be the only one in the world that hasn’t seen Orange is the New Black yet. I have a lot of catching up to do.
I hope this award show is better than that last award show…
Are you looking for something good to read? I wrote this summer reading suggestions post for my local Patch.
We had so much fun over the 4th of July weekend. We had three of our granddaughters. We had a block party and the girls were able to not only ride ponies but they learned a lot about them too. Morgan and Avery were so excited. Little Peyton decided not to ride the pony. She asked them if they had one small like a dog. She found a zebra just her size.
The block party was really nice, good food, music, neighbors and fun.
This weekend is boy’s weekend. I thought they might like to go to the blueberry festival with me. NOT.
While little Peyton was here she walked around singing something about wiggling and butts. I thought it was kind of cute. The boys performed the whole song for us and while I was stunned I could not help cracking up. Have you heard Jason Derulo’s song Wiggle? Am I nuts or is this hysterical?
We have had the craziest storms this week. I always seem to be driving when they happen. I saw trash cans and tree limbs flying through the air, transformers on fire and trees fall. It was so frightening I cannot even imagine what it is like to live in fear of tornadoes.
Honestly the past few weeks I have felt almost guilty enjoying the kids and the pets so much. The story of the baby whose father left him in the car is just sucking the joy out of me. I have two facebook friends that lost or have friends that lost small children in accidental drowning. Then there are all of those poor children from South America to worry about. I don’t even know who to be angry at for that one other than everyone, except the children.
Have a blessed weekend,
Doreen

Never feel guilty for enjoying the kids and animals… Life is too short.not to enjoy!
Your BACK!!!! Thank you so much for saying that. You are so right!!
I am always upset when I hear about missing children or children who have been killed. They had so much to live for and some crazy adult took it away.
It is so frustrating not knowing what to do to stop it or to help.
I have only one episode of Orange is the New Black. It seemed like a good show but I could never watch it because of the kids so I am there with you.
The block party and ponies look awesome!

One of these days I will binge watch. I’ve had the kids so often its been My little ponies and Frozen.
I have heard that song and I agree, it’s hilarious. That zebra pony is just perfect for your granddaughter. What a sweet photo. We were recently caught in Iowa on our way home from St. Louis. It was pretty scary so I can understand your fear. Have a great weekend!
I am SO glad I am not the only one who thinks that song is hilarious.
I love the wiggle song—we dance to it in Zumba, hahaha! Hey, I’d LOVE to go to that Blueberry Festival with you. I’m thinking fresh pies….
I need to start going to Zumba…lol. These boys just laughed at me. No picking blueberries for them. I am quite sure they will be interested in eating the pie though.
I really enjoyed reading this. The photos of your grandkids are really cute! And that video? Oh dear…I’m such a prude when it comes to things like that, but I do get a kick out of Snoop Dog or Lion, or whatever.
Thank you. I tend to be on the more prudish side too but I can have a weird sense of humor.
You definitely aren’t the only one who hasn’t seen Orange is the New Black. And that song, Wiggle…thank you so much for sharing the link. My 21 year old daughter looked at me like I’d lost my mind. Apparently it’s not suitable listening material for parents. lol Made my night!
LOL..made my night too! Not sure my daughters would approve either:)
