Friday Fragments…

I’ve been absent from Friday Fragments for a couple of weeks but I do have a note…and a lot of Fragments. So many important things happen in the course of a week but lets face it a lot of these occurrences do not qualify for a full post.  That is why the Mrs. of awesomesauce, Mrs.4444, invented Friday Fragments.  A friendly place to share the bits and pieces, good and bad of our weeks.  Join us, we would love to have you!

So, here in Philly we are on our 8th day of 90+ temps and I have been taking it all in stride…until I developed an abscessed tooth and a summer cold.  Enough. I feel guilty even complaining a little because of all of the serious storms happening and so many people are still without power.  Why is that??  Shouldn’t we have a better plan??  Anyway, someone turn the fans on please!!

The last week of June was our annual family week at the beach. There were a 100 or so of us.  It was so much fun and of course went by much too fast.  I was thrilled to have a book signing at the library…just a few feet from the beach.  I met blog friend Barbara Hammond http://www.zerotosixtyandbeyond.com which was just SO awesome, we have so much in common, a lot of other beach lovers and  a  lot of family members stopped in.  I could get used to a job like that:)

I am always an optimistic Phillies fan…always..nuf said!! How is your team doing this year?

Next week I have a book signing so close to home.  The Barnes & Noble in Broomall.  I am nervous and excited and have heard someone exciting will be stopping by.  I’ll keep you posted!

After the book signing my friend Tina and I will be heading to North Carolina to spend some time with our sweet friend Joelle, who has been diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing some very intense treatments.  Please pray for her and her family.

I am seriously swearing off of politics this election.  I will vote but I am just not going to get into any discussions about it.  I will chime in occasionally when something funny happens…like the scotus decision.  Did any of you read the decision?  It says that the bill can stand but that states can opt out.  The states are ALL broke and cannot afford to add 1000’s or millions  to their medicaid roles.  Seriously politicians, I wish you all would stop scamming and taking advantage of uninformed people.  Okay I’m done:)

With all the serious news out there lately I enjoy [I know] some lighthearted news like the whole TomKat situation.  Okay lighthearted probably isn’t the right word when divorce and a child are involved but seriously who did not see this coming from day one??

My favorite quote this week is actually just a funny and I do not know who said it:

Satan called and he wants his weather back!!

I wish you all a positive and powerful week!!
