JOHN

Just about 5 years ago, I was staring at my computer screen, a handsome man staring back at me.  I was not excited by his tank top or his motorcycle but there was something in his eyes.

We chatted online for several weeks, then on the phone and finally agreed to meet at a restaurant in Philadelphia.

We were both stunned with the realization that we shared a devastating anniversary date.  His son, John and my brother David died tragically on the same date. That was just the beginning of our ‘coincidences.’  My father Francis John and his father, Francis John lived in the same town in Florida.  Both men were artists.  We both had sisters named Dee. We had attended several of the same concerts, decades before.

There was no doubt in our hearts we were meant to be together. 13-months later, at sunset on a beach in South Jersey surrounded by our children, family and friends we were married.

In less than 5 years we have together faced, heart attacks, heart surgeries, dog’s death, mother’s death, father’s death, gall bladder surgery, emergency c-sections, head injuries, auto accidents, motorcycle accidents, coma, internal injuries, separation, arrests, cancer, hospice, a hurricane, an earthquake, job loss, asthma attacks and so much more.

We often laugh as we wonder how it is possible to be as happy and as in love as we are.  The answer is easy.  Yes, we have faced a lot of challenges in a few short years but we have also been abundantly blessed.

The surgeries all had positive outcomes.  The accidents were survived.  A loved one’s cancer is in remission, our home is still standing, we started our own business, I became a published author and our families have been blessed  by the births of Luke, Ava, Evelyn, Noah, Adriana, Scarlett, Peyton, Myles, Jordan, Toby and Brendan.

I love my husband, John.
