Friday Fragments are bits and pieces of your week that are usually brief; too short for a stand-alone post, but too good to discard. Collect humorous observations, “Heard” items, and other small gems from your week and put them together in a Friday Fragments post. Then leave a link to your Friday Fragments post with our host Mrs. 4444 at Half-Past Kissin’ Time.
The Pope is coming to Philly! I should be super excited and yes it is very exciting but for some reason all I can think of is the traffic and the diversions. Will I go if he holds an outdoor Mass. Probably but I already know it will be a logistics mess.
I LOVE that he met with the FINALLY released Christian woman who was sentenced to death, Miriam Ibreham and her family.
I was so excited to have a post on Midlife Boulevard for the first time! Which by the way is an AMAZING community of the most talented, funny, brilliant and supportive women I have ever met (only a few in real life) but cannot wait to meet more of them in real life.

As if that wasn’t exciting enough this happened on Books is Wonderful:
http://www.booksiswonderful.com/books-by-writers-i-know/
The author of Books is Wonderful, Helene Cohen Bludman is in England right now with another MLB friend, Lois Alter Mark. They are touring the Downton Abbey Castle and doing all sorts of other dreamy things. I cannot wait to read both of their posts about the trip.
My conspiracy theory mind is spinning out of control over all of these ‘air’ disasters. Sad.
I had to have surgery to clear up a jaw infection that resulted from jaw surgery. Just ouch and a frustrating setback. It has me dragging.
Hell on Wheels will be back on AMC on August 2. I cannot Wait!
Have a Blessed Weekend,
Doreen

Oh wow, I would love love love to have the opportunity to go to that Mass. Even if just to say I was there. I think I’d even brave the traffic mess. Good luck!
I will have to go, for sure:)
Yes, unfortunately excitement (like a visit from the Pope) can turn into a hassle with all the traffic and associated crowds – good luck!
I missed the last Pope that came to Philly. I was living in New England. My husband took his Mother. It will be interesting!
Congrats on MidLife Blvd,girl!
Thank you, Carol!
I might even make the trip to Philly if I knew I could see the POPE and I am not even Catholic. Missed John Paul in Rome by 10 minutes last time I was there. Would like to see a pope once in my life.
If you make the trip we will have to plan to meet across the bridge in New Jersey. We will never find each other in the crowd. I think it will be amazing.
It is always a good week when surrounded by friends on the Boulevard and promoted by Helene!! My week was made better by your Wednesday post :)!
They are amazing, both of them. Thank you!
Wonderful to see you on Midlife Blvd – great community!
Thank you Kimba. It is such a supportive community.
I like the pope. I am Protestant but I am following his life and words. He’s worthy of emulation, to be sure. Sorry to hear about the jaw problem. That sounds like quite an ordeal.
I like him too but sometimes worry a bit about what his plans are.
I’d never heard of Midlife Boulevard, but checked it out and found lots of good reads there, including yours. Distracted me for a good half hour this morning when I’m supposed to be doing housework. And it IS strange about all the air disasters happening at once. Sure makes me not want to fly anywhere. Hope you’re feeling better soon!
Yes, Midlife Boulevard can be side tracking for sure but it is a wonderful community. Thank you for reading.
So sorry to hear your are suffering, my friend. Here’s hoping you feel well again soon!
I’d prefer to meet the pope at his house! 🙂
I clicked on the Midlife Blvd post yesterday, got carried away and forgot to come back! Thanks for linkingup! Have a restful week.
Thank you so much for reading that post! Finally starting to feel better.
I’m with you, traffic and crowds have kept me from seeing/meeting lots of various folks over the years. But, oh, how I’d love to see or meet the Pope.
So sorry about your jaw, it sounds very uncomfortable for sure. I’ve had so, so many teeth issues in my lifetime and know the discomfort of mouth and jaw pain.
Wishing you a wonderful new week!
Thank you Lea. I am def going to have to go see the Pope.
I am so glad that the woman was finally released. That was a terrible situation.
Exciting about the Pope but I understand. A lot of great things happen in Austin and yet my hubby and I avoid them because of logistics.
Congrats on Midlife Boulevard.
🙂
Traci
I am so relieved she was freed. So scary that this keeps happening.
