Writing Rituals..

It’s time for another group posting of the Insecure Writer’s Support Group! Time to release our fears to the world – or offer encouragement to those who are feeling neurotic. We post the first Wednesday of every month. I encourage everyone to visit at least a dozen new blogs and leave a comment. Your words might be the encouragement someone needs.

If you’d like to join us, click on the tab above and sign up.

The awesome co-hosts today are Feather Stone, Beverly Stowe McClure, Mary Aalgaard, Kim Lajevardi, and Chemist Ken!

Today’s question

Do you have any rituals that you use when you need help getting into the ZONE?

Yes, I have several rituals that I use! Normally they work. It’s been different the past eight weeks; I’m still trying to find new rituals that might work to help me focus.

Insecure Writers Support Group

It’s the first Wednesday of the month which means it’s time for The Insecure Writers Support Group! And I’m thrilled to be hosting this month, it’s been awhile.

Purpose: To share and encourage.

Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. If you’ve been through the fire you can offer your assistance, and guidance. It’s a safe- haven for insecure writers of all kinds! http://www.insecurewriterssupportgroup.com/p/iwsg-sign-up.html

A Sort of Funny Story..

Sitting here bored, I thought of the funniest story.

I’ve been wanting to write about it but haven’t had the time.

Those that know me well understand that I was diagnosed with PTSD twenty years ago, and I’ve worked hard to manage it through the years and have been successful.

With PTSD, symptoms can return full force at any time.

Writing Wednesday; Research…

Writing Wednesday

Wednesday is the day I share what I’ve learned on my journey from writing, publication, marketing; and doing it all again, and again. The kind of information I wish someone shared with me back when.

Research:

Everything you write whether it’s an article, essay, blog post or a book it needs to be researched. Getting your facts straight, whether your work is fiction or nonfiction will make your story believable and increase your credibility as a writer.

Writers Resistance…

The first Wednesday of every month is officially:

Insecure Writer’s Support Group Day #IWSG

Post your thoughts on your own blog. Talk about your writing doubts and the fears you have or have conquered. Discuss your struggles and triumphs. Offer a word of encouragement for others who are struggling. Visit others in the group and connect with your fellow writer – aim for a dozen new people each time.

Foodie Friday Fragments…

Foodie Friday Fragments are bits and pieces of your week that are usually brief; too short for a stand-alone post, but too good to discard. Collect humorous observations, “Heard” items, and other small gems throughout your week and put them together in a Friday Fragments post. Add a recipe or something ‘foodie’ from your week. Leave me a link in the comments so I can read your fragments!

The original host of Friday Fragments was Mrs. 4444’s. You can find some of those posts here: (half past kissin’ time to kiss again.)

On the 3rd Wednesday of every month I attend a Press Club Luncheon. I enjoy most of the guest speakers we have but this past week our speakers were interesting and actually fun. They brought puppets; they actually design/build and operate puppets. They were cute too, the guys and the puppets!

Monkey Boys Productions  is a unique multi-medium production company that creates puppets, props, creatures, costumes, practical effects, and entertainment for film, television, and stage.

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!

The Nor-Easter/blizzard was sort of a bust but it was still 6 or 7 inches of snow with an inch of ice on top of that. It was pretty until I had to go out to present a workshop an hour and 15 minutes away.

We’ve been having the most unusually warm winter and deep in my gut I knew…it was coming.
