Help Someone…

During the month of April I am participating in the A-Z Blogging Challenge. You can learn more about that here:

My theme this year is Keep Moving Forward

Today’s letter is H and the word I chose is Help

I chose the word help because one of the things I learned to do when I’ve been stuck is to help someone else who is feeling stuck.

The last thing most of us want to do when we are depressed, sick or feeling stuck in any way is to help someone else. We want someone to come to our rescue. We feel we deserve help. It isn’t easy to change that feeling but it is true. When you help someone else you cannot help feeling better yourself. Try it and always Keep Moving Forward!

Try to help others. Consult their weaknesses, relieve their maladies; strive to raise them up, and by so doing you will most effectually raise yourself up also. Joseph Barber Lightfoot

I love being a part of this team!

  • I absolutely love this! And I totally agree. Helping someone else out is the *best* way to get a lift in the day. Really it’s the best way to do a lot of things – supervise people, lift one’s own spirits, lift someone else’s spirits, show someone you love them…
Fun theme, and thanks so much for all your hard work this month! <3

  • Helping someone else when you need help is indeed beneficial. Just the act of doing something helpful can lift your spirits. That in turn spreads the joy and what goes around comes around.

When I receive help from someone else, I often do a “Paying It Forward” blog post to highlight that person’s generosity. It seems the more we pass on, the more that comes back to us. Today someone asked me for a favor, then asked if there was something they could do for me. I jumped at the opportunity to ask for a read and review of my next novel. A win-win situation!
