Insecure Writer’s Support Group Day…

It’s the first Wednesday of the month and that means it’s time for the monthly meeting of the Insecure Writers Support Group.

Insecure Writers support group:

Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!

Posting: The first Wednesday of every month is officially Insecure Writer’s Support Group day. Post your thoughts on your own blog. Talk about your doubts and the fears you have conquered. Discuss your struggles and triumphs. Offer a word of encouragement for others who are struggling. Visit others in the group and connect with your fellow writer – aim for a dozen new people each time.

Be sure to link to this page and display the badge in your post.

Let’s rock the neurotic writing world!

The optional question for December is:

As you look back on 2017, with all its successes/failures, if you could backtrack, what would you do differently?

I would love a redo on more than a few things this year. Personally there was some family drama I could have done without. There was also ‘friend’ drama that I honestly thought was supposed to be over by the time we were out of middle-school. The best thing to come out of both was the realization that not all relationships are worth, “saving.”

How about all the election drama? I am SO sick of hearing, seeing and reading about it. I think an alien ship swooped down and scooped up some of my writer friends and cemented their feet in blocks of concrete and then force-fed them, bitter, anger and negativity pills. I miss them.

My word for 2017 was finish and I failed quite miserably at finishing the few projects on my goals list.

That said I did start a business this year and (knock on wood) it has grown beyond my expectations and all signs point to a successful 2018. Hopefully my word for 2018, success, is a better choice.

My #1 goal was to finish Realize your Writing Dreams and have it out in the world. I’m not giving up, it’s so close to finished so it’s possible I may make it after all.

I’m not making excuses but the owners of the publishing company my first two-books were published with were indicted. Talk about drama! This drama with mixed with weeks of panic and anxiety. There was a big lesson there to. It’s so easy to get stuck in disappointment. I pinned #KeepMovingForward all over my house.

The one thing I would do if I could backtrack would be to better manage my time and to actually schedule down time for myself.

2018 is approaching fast. I’m still working on my goal list for the New Year. One thing I do know is the list will be shorter because the word is #success and I want to get there!

How about you? What would you do differently and do you have goals, resolutions or a word for 2018?

Our hosts for this month are: Julie Flanders, Shannon Lawrence, Fundy Blue, and Heather Gardner!

Stop by and thank them!

Happy Writing,

Doreen
